Gaze upon an icon

A much photographed sight and rightly so. Unwind after a long day of meetings and enjoy memorable downtime along one of the most scenic sights in Kochi – the iconic red sails against the sunset, the cantilevered, spider-like nets, and the curving teak and bamboo reaching out to the ocean. While modern fishing techniques may be more efficient, they are certainly not as magical or as steeped in history. Reputed to have arrived here via 14th century traders from the court of Kublai Khan, the sails have endured along with the port and the proud tradition of business and trade.
